May 2020 – December 2020
For the summer of 2020, I lined up an internship with Volunteer Traditions in Nashville, TN.
Volunteer Traditions is an apparel company that makes awesome products for people who love Tennessee. Owned by Mason Jones, a UT grad who I originally met through an event with the Student Alumni Associates, Vol Trad provided a great opportunity for me to grow my skills and learn a new industry.
Despite the pandemic, I am extremely grateful that Mason kept me on and gave me the opportunity to learn first hand.
Throughout the summer, I worked largely on the strategy for the fall launch of the Bluetick Collection. Beginning in May, Mason tasked me with planning a launch for the new design, inspired by our state dog and beloved mascot. In this role that was less of a social media manager role and more of a strategist and consultant role, I was given the opportunity to think constructively and creatively to grow both the brand and business.
Some of the things I did included:
- Making the Bluetick launch calendar
- Consulting for social channels, providing analysis and outlining opportunities for growth
- Building playbooks of best practices for social media channels
- Making GIF packages for designs and logos
- Making coverage plans for gamedays
- Creating media kits for the Bluetick Launch
- Market research for competitors
- Revising blog posts to SEO format
